Thelma Harrington

Thelma Harrington, 88, of Butler passed away Thursday at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born on March 12, 1925, in Lehigh, Iowa, the daughter of the late Cyrus and Goldie Showers Beyer.

She was one of Jehovah's Witnesses and attended the Butler congregation.

She enjoyed gardening, traveling, sewing and spending time with her family.

Surviving are two daughters, Debra (John) Kidd of Flower Mound, Texas, and Dina (Gary) Roy of Cumming, Ga.; three sons, Daniel (Meg) Harrington of Butler, David (Cindy) Harrington of Butler and Dara (Crystal) Harrington of Slippery Rock; 10 grandchildren; siblings, Beulah Kockorsky, Wanda Harrington and Richard Beyer; and a number of nephews, nieces and friends.

She also was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Floyd E. Harrington, who died May 8, 2011; a grandson, Jared Kidd; and siblings, Melvin Beyer, Virgil Beyer and Elsie Swain.

HARRINGTON — A memorial service for Thelma Harrington, who passed away Thursday, Sept. 5, 2013, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 157 Unionville Road, Butler, with Norman Luzell Jr. officiating.
