Helen F. Sullivan, 78, of Hilliards passed away at 12:20 a.m. Friday at her home following a period of declining health.

Born in Washington Township on Nov. 24, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Mamie Young Early.

She was sharing 61 years of marriage this year with James R. “Jim” Sullivan, who survives. They were married on June 28, 1952.

She was of the United Methodist faith all of her life, and was a graduate of the former Concord Township-Hooker High School.

Helen enjoyed gardening, especially working in her beautiful flower gardens around her home.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Rita (Robert) Guntrum and Susan Campbell, both of Hilliards; three sons, James “Jim” (Maxine) Sullivan of Parker, Joseph “Joe” (Terri) Sullivan and Terry (Michele) Sullivan, all of Hilliards; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; her sister, Dorothy (Paul) Sullivan of Hilliards; her brother, Dale “Sonny” (Donna) Early of Parker; and a number and nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Arthur, Kenneth and Walter Early; two sisters, Bernice MacTaggert and Ruby Zinnser; and one grandchild.

SULLIVAN — Friends of Helen F. Sullivan, who died Friday, Sept. 13, 2013, may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the H. Jack Buzard Funeral Home, 201 S. Washington St., Eau Claire, where funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday. Interment will follow at Eau Claire Cemetery.
