Fay Carole Fleischman Ness
Fay Carole Fleischman Ness, 77, formerly of Cranberry Township, died peacefully Sunday morning at the Golden Living Center in Oil City.
Born in Millvale, Pa., on Nov. 3, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Eleanor Schulz Fleischman.
Fay loved her family and her home. She enjoyed camping, sailing and the annual family vacation to North Carolina. One of her proudest achievements was in 1977, when she graduated from nursing school as a licensed practical nurse.
She enjoyed her nursing career and was employed by UPMC Passavant Hospital in North Hills until her retirement in 1999.
Fay had a kind and giving spirit and was loved by all for her sweet personality.
Surviving are her two sons, Jeffrey L. Ness and his wife, Lynda, of Pleasantville and Scott A. Ness of Cranberry Township; her three daughters, Tracy L. Schultzaberger and her husband, Denny, of Cranberry Township, Lori E. Brown and her husband, Joe, of Renfrew and Diane C. Fox and her husband, Keith, of Lorton, Va. Also surviving are her seven grandsons; 11 great-grandchildren; three step- great-grandchildren; a sister, Gayle Steinsdoerfer of Pittsburgh; and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester L. Ness, who she married on Jan. 30, 1954, and who died on Jan. 6, 2008; her grandson, Christopher Andrew Phillips; her three brothers-in-law; and her sister-in-law.
NESS — The friends of Fay Carole Fleischman Ness, who died Sunday, Oct. 6, 2013, will be received at the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Peggy Suhr-Barkley officiating.
