Linda Joyce (Potochny) Seth
Linda Joyce (Potochny) Seth, 65, of Worthington died Sunday at her home surrounded by her family after a short battle with cancer.
She was born on Jan. 25, 1948, in Butler to John and Inger Potochny.
Linda was raised in Lyndora and attended St. Francis School of Nursing in New Castle, Pa.
Following graduation, she worked as an intensive care nurse for various hospitals. She also worked at various medical offices before finishing her career as a visiting nurse. Linda loved nursing and helping people.
She was elected mayor of Worthington in the 1980s and re-elected for a second term via a write-in campaign.
She was a very giving person. Although her later years were made difficult by various illnesses, she remained an optimist through it all, which was a testament to her strength. Linda enjoyed her family, pets, traveling, and reading about history, true crime and current events.
She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Barry; her children, Joseph and Douglas; her stepsons, Barry and Dayne; her grandchildren, Jourdan, Cameron, Taylor and Morgan; and her brothers, Robert and Richard Potochny.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, John and Inger Potochny.
SETH — Relatives and friends of Linda Joyce (Potochny) Seth, who died Sunday, Nov. 3, 2013, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
