Borough council holds the line on property tax rate
SAXONBURG — Borough residents won’t be paying higher property taxes next year.
Council on Wednesday adopted a $646,588 budget for 2014 that keeps the tax rate at 22.66 mills.
The new budget is an $8,050 increase from this year’s $638,538 budget.
Mary Papik, borough manager, said in an interview the increase in the budget is the net result of buying a new police cruiser, but planning no stormwater management work.
