Shoplifting case turns into drug bust
BUTLER TWP — A shoplifting case Saturday night turned into a possible drug bust for township police.
Amber Rachelle Porter, 24, of Butler is charged with manufacturing, delivery or possession with intent to manufacture or deliver a controlled substance; knowingly or intentionally possessing a controlled substance; possession of drug paraphernalia; retail theft; and criminal mischief.
According to the criminal complaint, police were dispatched at 11:55 p.m. to the Walmart at the Butler Commons shopping center for alleged shoplifting.
Police reported finding 62 stamp bags of heroin marked “skull candy,” a 2-inch plastic straw and $328 in cash in Porter’s purse.
Walmart security accused Porter of taking more than $75 worth of merchandise.
