Samuel R. Beacom Sr., 71, of Fawn Township passed away Thursday at Life Care Hospital, Natrona Heights.

Born on July 27, 1942, in Springdale, he was the son of the late Francis K. and Annie (Rea) Beacom.

Sam has lived most of his life in Frazer Township, where he owned and operated PC Beacom, Inc., a wholesale-retail tools and automotive parts store for 35 plus years.

He was a member of the St. Barnabas Episcopal Church in Brackenridge and the Antique Club of America. He graduated in 1960 from Springdale High School, and his work was his passion.

Survivors include his sons, Samuel R. (Lisa) Beacom Jr. of West Deer Township, S. Mark (Terry) Beacom of Saxonburg and Michael P. (Lisa) Beacom of Middlesex Township; and his grandchildren, Devin and Garrett Beacom of Middlesex Township, Mark Jr. and Celeste Beacom of Saxonburg and Taylor, Katelyn and Sam Beacom III of West Deer Township. Also surviving are his siblings, Marion (Hugo) Maraniti of Kentucky, and James (Lillian) Beacom and Charles H. “Chuck” (Susan) Beacom of Frazer Township.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Penelope E. “Penny” (Spiering) Beacom, in 2007.

Beacom — The visitation for Samuel R. Beacom Sr., who passed away Thursday, Nov. 21, 2013, will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday and from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in the Duster Funeral Home, 347 E. 10th Ave., Tarentum. The Requiem Eucharist will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Monday at the St. Barnabas Episcopal Church, Brackenridge, with the Rev. Dr. Frank M. Yesko officiating.
