Helen M. Rieti (née Nazar), 88, of Upper Deerfield Township, N.J., died Monday evening Nov. 25, 2013, at Millville Center — Genesis Elder Care in Millville, where she had been a resident since July.

Mrs. Rieti was the widow of James V. Rieti, who died in 1982. She was born in West Sunbury, and was the daughter of the late John and Anna Corba Nazar.

When she first moved to southern New Jersey, she worked at the former Owens-Illinois Glass Company in Bridgeton and later was the manager of Norge Laundromat in Upper Deerfield. Much of her working career was spent as a homemaker and serving as a caregiver for both the elderly and those who were young.

She lived with her daughter before entering Genesis and also in Buena for 15 years. Most of her adult life, she lived on Park Drive in Upper Deerfield.

A member of The Parish of the Holy Cross in Bridgeton, she was a certified Red Cross volunteer and loved it when she was surrounded by her family and friends. She enjoyed golfing for many years and also traveling. She also appreciated her trips to the casinos in Atlantic City and had been a volunteer with 4-H several years ago.

Survivors include her two daughters, Judy A. Zelik (Josef Jr.) of Upper Deerfield, N.J., and Donna M. Piatt (Casey) of Vineland, N.J.; her four grandchildren, James Casey Piatt (Laurel), Stefanie A. Parvin (Scott), Nikole C. Smith (Jared) and Josef A. Zelik; her four great-grandchildren, James Casey “Jae” Piatt Jr., Ava Rose Piatt, Kaeden Liam Parvin and Kiley Marie Parvin, and her three sisters, Stella Swope and Katherine McGregor, both of West Sunbury, and Sophie Green of Butler.

Mrs. Rieti was preceded in death by her stepson, Raymond Rieti; her three brothers, Paul, Nick and John Nazar Jr., and her three sisters, Anna Dilkman, Martha Kiley and Mary Hall.

RIETI — Private graveside funeral services for Helen M. Rieti (née Nazar), who died Monday, Nov. 25, 2013, will be at the convenience of the family at Fernwood Memorial Park in Hopewell Township, N.J.In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions may be made to Inspira Health — HospiceCare, P.O.
