Austin Jacob “A.J.” Zwigart, 15, of Valencia, Middlesex Township, tragically passed away Wednesday of injuries from a dirt bike accident in Georgia.

Born on Sept. 18, 1998, in McCandless Township, he was the son of Denise J. Frank Zwigart and Robert P. Zwigart.

A.J. was in the eighth grade at the Mars Middle School and was an avid dirt bike rider. He enjoyed football, wrestling and hunting.

Surviving are his mother, Denise Frank Zwigart (Jared) of Butler; his father, Robert Zwigart (Kristen) of Valencia; one brother, Zachary “Zack” Zwigart and one sister, Ashley Zwigart, both of Valencia; one stepbrother, Chaney Best of Valencia; two stepsisters, Ginger Best of Valencia and Angela Leach of Butler; his maternal grandmother, Carol Frank of Valencia; his maternal grandfather, Regis Frank (Virginia) of Leechburg; and his paternal grandparents, James and Anna Zwigart of Valencia. He was the nephew of James Zwigart Jr. of Valencia, Lisa Tierney (Jim) of South Park, Regis Frank (Renee) of Penn Township, Ronald Frank (Kelley) in Georgia, Keith Frank (Jay) of Shaler and Dana Leatham (Jamie) in Georgia. He also is survived by many cousins and his best partner in mayhem, Collin Leatham.

He was preceded in death by an uncle, Michael Zwigart; and his stepgrandfather, Mark Flaugherty.

ZWIGART — Friends of Austin Jacob “A.J.” Zwigart, who died Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2013, will be received at the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. Monday. A blessing service will follow at 9 p.m.

Private family graveside services will be Tuesday at Allegheny County Memorial Park in McCandless Township.

Following the burial, family and friends are invited to celebrate his life from noon to 4 p.m. at the Mars VFW, 331 Mars-Valencia Road, Mars.

Memorials may be given to the family to assist with final expenses.
