Major L. 'Patsy' Reeves Jr.
Major L. “Patsy” Reeves Jr., 77, of Ridgeway passed away Thursday at the DuBois Regional Medical Center.
Born in Butler on Sept. 30, 1936, he was the son of the late Major Reeves Sr. and Emily (Coleman) Reeves.
He was employed by Pullman Standard, and later he retired from ARMCO.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
He was involved with many local clubs and was a recent proud recipient of the 50-year pin from the F&AM Masonic Argyle Lodge 540 in Chicora. Major enjoyed traveling across the country in his RV, camping and fishing for walleye with his closest friends in Pymatuning. He also enjoyed playing cards with his buddies, spending time at deer camp, and most of all, he loved to golf.
Major was a Presbyterian.
He is survived by his children, Margie (Reeves) Lindsay and her husband, Dale, of Chicora, Warren Reeves and his wife, Anita, of Bentonville, Ark.; his three grandchildren, SaraBeth Swain of Butler and Megan Reeves and Emily Reeves, both of Bentonville, Ark.; his brother, Charles “Buddy” Reeves of Indianapolis, Ind.; and his companion, Linda Papa and her foster daughter, Kristen Gagliardi, both of Ridgeway.
In addition to his parents, Major was preceded in death by his wife of more than 40 years, Alice (Snodgrass) Reeves, and his siblings, Donald G. Reeves of Chicora, Joan Burr of Saxonburg and William Reeves of Chicora.
