Shirley Sita

Shirley Sita, 87, of Sligo, formerly of Phillipston, Pa., passed away Thursday at the Country Springs Personal Care Home in Sligo.

She was born on Sept. 16, 1926, in Phillipston, Pa., the daughter of Edward S. and Sara Jane (Crawford) Vosburg.

Shirley lived in Phillipston all of her life and graduated from East Brady High School.

In her younger years she worked at Schenley Distillery, and later she went to work in the production department at the former Clarion Owens Illinois Glass plant, a position she held for more than 20 years.

Shirley was a member of the East Brady United Methodist Church.

Shirley enjoyed several hobbies throughout her life. She took great pleasure in her many bus trips over the years. She was also a gifted artist and throughout her school years created many beautiful pencil sketches and drawings. Shirley was especially fond of cats and loved and nurtured many as her pets. She had a great appreciation of the outdoors and was an avid walker, who could be seen walking around Phillipston every day. Those who knew her will remember her many feline friends, her kind and gentle heart, and giving nature.

Her memory will be cherished by her cousins, Audrey Hile and Gene Hile, both of Karns City, and numerous other cousins.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dominick Sita, DDS, who she married on Nov. 25, 1961, and who died on Nov. 9, 2002; and her twin brother, Edward S. Vosburg III.

SITA — The relatives and friends of Shirley Sita, who passed away Thursday, Dec. 12, 2013, will be received from 11 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Bauer-Hillis Funeral Home, 758 Main St., Rimersburg, with the Rev. John A. Milliron officiating.
