County looks to add Mental Health Court
Butler County may add a Mental Health Court.
The county commissioners today authorized a grant application be sent to the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency for funding.
Tom Holman, deputy court administrator, said in an interview the amount of the competitive grant would be $150,000.
Holman said at the meeting the mental health court would be used to potentially divert up to 50 defendants who would qualify.
“To provide treatment rather than incarceration,” he said.
