Rotary sponsors 2 food drives

Donations being accepted

CRANBERRY TWP — The Cranberry Township Sunrise Rotary Club is gathering food for needy families.

Two food drives sponsored by the Rotary Club will help gather food for the Gleaners Food Bank.

Volunteers from the club will collect food donations from residents on Feb. 15. They will drive around neighborhoods to pick up donations.

Those wanting to donate food on Feb. 15 can leave items in a bag or a box on the front doorstep of their home or in their driveway, ensuring that it is visible from the street. Items should be set out after 10 a.m.

The Rotary Club also is collecting food donations at the township municipal center on Rochester Road just west of Route 19 through March 31.

Items sought include pasta, pasta sauce, peanut butter, cereal and canned meats. Items that are past their expired date cannot be accepted.

Nonfood items such as tissue, paper towels, toilet tissue, toothpaste, toothbrushes, shampoo and soap also are needed.

Cash donations are accepted and can be mailed to: Gleaners Food Bank, c/o Cranberry Township Rotary Club — Sunrise, P.O. Box 1583, Cranberry Township, PA 16066. Checks should be made payable to “Gleaners Food Bank.”
