Richard Delano Terwilliger

Richard Delano Terwilliger, 80, of Butler passed away Friday at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

He was born on Nov. 27, 1933, in Rimersburg to the late James Hunter Terwilliger and Margie (Kriebel) Terwilliger.

Mr. Terwilliger was a member of the East Butler Presbyterian Church.

He worked for the family concrete block plant in Chicora, and then as an electrician for Magnetics for 42 years from 1954 to 1996.

He was a member of Marienville Rod and Gun Club and the Butler City Hunting and Fishing Club.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army as a member of the 6th Armored Heavy Tank Division, serving for 18 months in Germany.

Mr. Terwilliger is survived by his wife, Nancy Mae (Henry) Terwilliger, who he married on May 22, 1958; his two daughters, Beverly Mae Geibel and her husband, Terry L., of Chicora and Diane L. Stephens and her friend, Ron Gold, of Butler; his two sons, Terry Terwilliger and his wife, Debbie, of Butler and Glenn R. Terwilliger and his wife, Maureen, of Chicora; his 10 grandchildren, Joshua, Christopher, Troy, Amber, Bradley, Sandi, Cody, Brook, Dalton and Kaleb; his sister, Auda Jane Young of Concordia at the Orchard, and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Dennis Richard Terwilliger, and his three brothers, Clair, Eugene, and Howard Terwilliger.

Terwilliger — The friends of Richard Delano Terwilliger, who passed away Friday, Jan. 10, 2014, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler.The funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Robert Mathias officiating. Burial will take place in Butler County Memorial Park.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to the American Cancer Society, Greater Pittsburgh, 320 Bilmar Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15205.Online condolences can be given at www.thompson-miller.com.
