John J. Haugh
John J. Haugh, 85, of Butler passed away Saturday at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born on May 8, 1928, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Phillip and Helen (Rosley) Haugh.
John worked for the Carpenters Union for 43 years, while at the same time farming his own farm for 20 of those years.
He was a member of the St. Wendelin Roman Catholic Church in Butler. He was also a member of the Moose Lodge 64 in Butler, a social member of the East Butler Fire Hall and the Bass Buddies Fishing Club. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Surviving are his wife, Sara A. (Glunt) Haugh, they were married on Oct. 7, 1950; his daughter, Janet Haugh of Butler; his son, Jim Haugh of West Sunbury; his three brothers, Robert (Pat) Haugh of Aliquippa, Edward (Connie) Smorey of Portersville and Richard Smorey of Butler; his sister, Ruth (Ray) Schmidt of Saxonburg, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his four brothers and his sister.
Haugh — The friends of John J. Haugh, who passed away Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014, will be received at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the St. Wendelin Roman Catholic Church, 210 St. Wendelin Road, Butler, with the Rev.
