Karen Michelle Erie

Karen Michelle Erie, 54, of Prospect passed away after an extended illness Monday at Butler Memorial Hospital.

She was born on March 4, 1959, in Butler, the daughter of Andrew and Virginia (Stevens) Erie of Butler.

Karen was a member of the St. Andrew's Roman Catholic Church.

She was an avid reader and enjoyed cooking, barbecuing and playing board games with her friends and family.

Surviving are her parents of Butler; her two sisters, Kim (Craig) Saul of Butler and Katrine Erie of Butler; her two brothers, Andrew (Jacqueline) Erie Jr. of Orchard Park, N.Y., and Richard (Carey) Erie of Pensacola, Fla., and a number of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews and a great-nephew.

She was preceded in death by her partner, Francis Rizzo.

ERIE — The friends of Karen Michelle Erie, who passed away Monday, Jan. 13, 2014, will be received at the Young Funeral Home, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the St. Andrew's Roman Catholic Church, 1660 N.
