Ronald Weitzel

Ronald C. Weitzel, 76, of Woodstock, Ga., passed away suddenly on Saturday.

He was born on Nov. 14, 1937, to Clair and Eleanor Weitzel in Connoquenessing.

He graduated from Slippery Rock High School.

He has been married to Marjorie Jean Weitzel for 35 years, and was a loving husband, father and friend. Ron was a member of the Heritage Presbyterian Church in Acworth, Ga.

Ron worked for Pennsylvania Power for 15 years, and he owned and operated the Arrowhead Electric Co. in Jonesboro, Ga., from 1977-1991. He later worked for and retired from the City of Atlanta. He was past president of the Independent Electrical Contractors (IEC) organization.

Ron was preceded in death by his first wife of 22 years, Shirley Ann (McCandless) Weitzel, and his parents, Clair and Eleanor Weitzel.

He is survived by his wife, Marjorie Jean Weitzel; his four sons, Terry (Sybil) of Newnan, Ga., Dale (partner, Peter Aleksic) of Tampa, Fla., David (Nancy) of Milledgeville, Ga., and Chuck (Kathy) of Hampton, Ga.; his daughter, Devona Keith (Jeff) of Knoxville, Tenn.; his stepdaughter, Dani Lee (Rich) of Cleveland, Ohio; and his stepson, Scott Hochmuth (Susan) of Cornelia, Ga.

Also surviving are his two granddaughters, Stephanie Bignon and Melissa Washington; his five grandsons, Stephen, Brad, Brian, Anthony and David; his three great-grandchildren, Madison, Charlie and Kendall; his sisters, Delores LeFebvre (Regis) of Portersville and Marcia Parton (Ken) of Slippery Rock; his brothers, Blair of Portersville and Rodger (Nancy) of Prospect; and numerous wonderful nieces and nephews.

WEITZEL — The remains of Ronald C. Weitzel, who passed away Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014, were cremated. A private memorial service will be scheduled later.The funeral arrangements were entrusted to the SouthCare Cremation & Funeral Society, Marietta, Ga.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heritage Presbyterian Church, 5323 Bells Ferry Road NW, Acworth, GA 30102 or to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Pl., Memphis, TN 38105.
