Lawrence James 'Jim' Dodds

Lawrence James “Jim” Dodds, 74, of Middlesex Township passed away Saturday.

Born on June 30, 1939, in East Brady, he was the son of the late Lawrence H. and Eleanor F. (Kummer) Dodds.

He was the loving father of J. Jeffrey Dodds of Raleigh, N.C., David W. Dodds of Rockwood, Pa., and the late Debra A. Dodds. He was the brother of Richard A. Dodds of New Castle, Del., and the proud grandfather of Dylan Dodds of North Carolina.

Jim was a machine designer for many companies in Pittsburgh.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran.

He was a graduate of Shaler High School and Penn State University.

He was a member of the John E. Mair Lodge 729 F.&A.M. and the Syria Shrine. He was a longtime supporter of Hosanna Industries and the Lighthouse Foundation. He was an avid sports fan of all the Pittsburgh professional teams, and especially Penn State football.

DODDS — The friends of Lawrence James “Jim” Dodds, who passed away Saturday, Jan. 18, 2014, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Schellhaas Funeral Home, 5864 Heckert Road, Bakerstown. The services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the First Presbyterian Church of Bakerstown, Route 8 at Heckert Road, Bakerstown.The family suggests donations be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Bakerstown, P.O.
