Butler senior Will Bortmas won his match at “The Clash” all-star wrestling tournament, held Tuesday at St. Clairsville (Ohio) High School.

Bortmas, who competed at 220 pounds during the regular season, was bumped up to heavyweight for the event and defeated Beaver Local's Cody Martsolf 3-1.

The victory helped Pennsylvania's Midwestern Athletic Conference squad earn a 28-20 win over top wrestlers from the Ohio Valley Athletic Conference.

SLIPPERY ROCK — The Slippery Rock men's basketball team received an opportunity to play in the postseason Monday night when the Rock was selected to participate in the Eastern College Athletic Conference Tournament.The Rock (20-10) will play Caldwell College (16-11) in a semifinal game Saturday at 5 p.m. at Alumni Hall at Fairfield University (Conn.).The winner will play Dominican (N.Y.) College or Lincoln (Pa.) University for the championship at 4 p.m. Sunday.

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. — Clarion freshman pitcher Kane McCall, a Union graduate, was named as the PSAC West pitcher of the week.McCall threw five scoreless innings in relief to help Clarion beat California (Pa.) 4-3 Sunday.McCall allowed two hits, two walks and struck out two batters.
