Alvin Winchell

Alvin R. Winchell, 75, of Evans City passed away suddenly on Saturday at Butler Memorial Hospital after a period of declining health.

Born on June 13, 1938, in Kane, Pa., he was the son of the late Theron E. and Florence K. (Boyer) Winchell.

Alvin was a member of the Mt. Nebo Presbyterian Church in Whitestown.

He was a former employee of Pullman Standard in Butler and Lower Implement in Mars.

He was a member of the North American Hunting Club. Alvin enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards, camping, and working on cars, especially Jeeps. He also enjoyed keeping busy and doing anything to keep his mind active.

Above all, he was a loving husband, father, brother and grandfather, who treasured the time he spent with his family. He will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.

He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Pauline A. (Dambaugh) Winchell, who he married on Aug. 26, 1960; his children, Lynnette (Donald) Patton of Prospect, Diana (Wesley) Peters of Butler and Aaron Winchell of Prospect; his brother, Edward L. Winchell of Arizona; his grandchildren, Ben and Nathan Patton, Bethany Williams and Sara Streets; his stepgrandson, Jeff Peters, and his great-grandson, Aiden.

Winchell — The family of Alvin R. Winchell, who passed away Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014, will welcome friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Boylan Funeral Home, 116 E. Main St., Evans City.A funeral ceremony will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest at the Mt. Nebo Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Whitestown.If desired, memorial contributions may be made in his honor to Mt.
