Diana G. Blackmer Neff
Diana G. Blackmer Neff, 68, of Donegal Township, Chicora, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday afternoon at her home.
She was born in Butler on April 23, 1945, the daughter of the late Charles D. Burnside and Verna M. Huselton Burnside.
She was a member of the New Testament Baptist Church, Butler, and the St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, North Oakland, Chicora.
Diane devoted her life to special needs children and was a teacher's aid for special needs children at the Genesee Intermediate School in Flint, Mich., for 24 years.
She loved the Lord and especially the King James Bible. Diana loved the mountains and being out in nature.
She will be greatly missed by her loving husband, Joseph W. Neff, who she married on June 21, 2008; her son, Max Warren Blackmer Jr. of Tennessee; her adopted son, James Richard Blackmer of Butler, and her special needs son, David Mark Solomon of Herman. She is also survived by her brothers, David (Judy) Burnside of Florida, Richard W. and (L. Christine) Burnside of Fairview, Petrolia, and Burton D. (Courtney) Burnside of Chicora.
BLACKMER NEFF — The friends of Diana G. Blackmer Neff, who passed away Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2014, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the STEIGHNER FUNERAL HOME, at the corner of Main and E. Slippery Rock streets, Chicora. The service will follow at 8 p.m. Friday with the Rev. Steve Fisher, pastor of the New Testament Baptist Church, Butler, officiating.A funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, North Oakland, Chicora, celebrated by the Rev.
