Jennifer Breth

Jennifer T. Breth of Butler went home to the Lord Our Savior Sunday.

She was the proud daughter of William and June McGrady. She was born Oct. 29, 1971, into a loving family that included three older siblings, Billy, Sandy and Chris.

She married Thomas E. Breth on Dec. 29, 2001, and she changed his life forever. Her sudden passing has left a tremendous void and brought indescribable sorrow to those who loved her. Words cannot describe the love Jen had for those in her life and the amount of love felt for her. She was a kind, caring, and generous person who found great joy and happiness in helping others.

In April 2011, a golden retriever puppy came into Jen’s life. She named her new puppy, Brinkley, after the golden retriever in her favorite movie, “You’ve Got Mail.” Jen started taking Brinkley to visit her mother at Newhaven Court, and in no time Jen and Brinkley were regularly visiting all the residents at Newhaven and anywhere else that would let them visit. It brought her so much joy to see the happiness in the faces of the residents. Jen quickly learned their names, their backgrounds, and which ones were in need of a friend. This was a wonderful time in her life. Jen would want to say “thank you” to the staff and residents for their kindness toward her and Brinkley.

Jen was a longtime court reporter with the Court of Common Pleas in Butler County, until hand problems forced her to retire. Jen was very proud of her work, and her inability to continue working was very difficult for her. She made many friends during this time and always treasured the light-hearted moments shared with those friends.

Jen was a devoted and caring wife. Anyone who spent any time with Tom and Jen knew they were truly meant for each other. They loved to travel together and during their marriage, they shared so many wonderful adventures. Rarely are two people able to bring so much boundless love and happiness to each other.

To her family, Jen was a thoughtful and cherished daughter, daughter-in-law, sister, sister-in-law, niece, aunt and great-aunt. Through the good times and the occasional not-so-good times, Jen’s love and commitment to her family never wavered. If someone needed help, Jen was always willing to help out whether it involved getting someone to a doctor’s appointment, helping to organize and pay bills, taking a trip to the grocery store. Whatever was needed, Jen was always there. This gave her great joy and truly became such an important part of her life.

Jen is survived by her husband; her mother, June McGrady Lowers; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ron and Norie Breth; her brother, William McGrady Jr. and his wife, Rosemary; her sister, Sandy Campbell; her brother, Chris McGrady and his wife, Susan; her brother-in-law, Brian Breth and his wife, Annie; her sister-in-law, Kathy Brunemer and her husband, Todd, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Breth — Friends of Jennifer T. Breth, who passed away Sunday, March 2, 2014, will be received at Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 128 N. McKean St., Butler, with the Rev. Harry R. Bielewicz officiating.
