John Ardell Shernock, 75, of Rochester Mills, Pa., passed away Sunday at his home.

Mr. Shernock was born on July 7, 1938, in Kittanning, the son of the late George and Mildred (Bable) Shernock.

He is survived by his loving wife, Myrna S. (Williamson) Shernock of Rochester Mills, who he married on July 8, 1977.

He was a maintenance supervisor for Oneida Mines and a bus driver for the Marion Center School District before his retirement. He was also a member of the Moose 954 in Punxsutawney, Pa. He loved to garden and to wash his cars.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, John Shernock Jr. of Savannah, Ga.; his two daughters, Kim Aiken and her husband, Dennis, of Mars, and Sandra Ballard and her husband, Mark, of Reynoldsville, Pa.; his two stepsons, Scott Edwards of Baton Rouge, La., and Steve Edwards of Commodore, Pa.; and his stepdaughter, Tammy Wolfe and her husband, Ron, of Indiana, Pa.

He is also survived by his two brothers, Marlin Shernock and his wife, Pam, and Robert Shernock and his wife, JoAnn, all of Ford City; and his two sisters, Elaine Armitage and her husband, Mike, of Apollo, and Mary Ballie and her husband, Paul, of Ford City. Also surviving are his 11 grandchildren; his 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, George Shernock Jr., and his sister, Gaylene Christy.
