Jennings Environmental Education Center, Route 528, Brady Township, will host a 90-minute wildflower walk at 2 p.m. May 11. The program Nature Detectives: Salamanders will take place at 2 p.m. Sunday; registration for this program is due by Friday, either by calling 724-794-6011 or online at www.apps.dcnr.state.pa.us/Calendar. Jennings is open 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays and on weekends as scheduled. The trails are open daily from sunrise to sunset.

Star parties sponsored by the Amateur Astronomers Association of Pittsburgh will begin, weather permitting, at 8:15 p.m. Friday and Saturday at Nicholas E. Wagman Observatory in Deer Lakes Regional Park, Frazer Township, Allegheny County. Call 724-224-2510.The third annual Armstrong Trail Fundraising Ride, hosted by the Armstrong Rails to Trails Association and the Allegheny Valley Land Trust, will take place May 17, rain or shine. It offers a choice of an 18-mile or 30-mile round trip bicycle ride or a 4-mile round trip walk or ride. Call 412-759-9152 or send e-mail to toni.henry51@gmail.com.
