Butler grad earns dissertation award
Joseph Kasprzyk, formerly of Center Township, is the recipient of the 2014 Ph.D. Dissertation Award in the category of Natural Science and Engineering by the Universities Council on Water Resources.
The award will be presented at the council’s conference June 19 at Tufts University in Medford, Mass.
This annual award is given on the merit of the recipient’s dissertation as well as its contribution and impact on water resources.
In his dissertation, Kasprzyk addresses the challenges of managing environmental systems to benefit conflicting objectives such as cost and performance.
Kasprzyk, who is an assistant professor at the University of Colorado at Boulder, is a 2003 graduate of Butler High School.
