10:29 p.m. Monday — Terry W. Armstrong, 53, of Butler was arrested for driving under the influence on South Chestnut Street.Police said they saw Armstrong drive through a red light at the intersection of West Cunningham Street. During the traffic stop, Armstrong told police he forgot his phone at the Chestnut Street Inn and was driving back for it.Officers noticed a strong smell of alcohol coming from the suspect's pickup truck and administered field sobriety tests, which he failed, according to a police report.Results of a blood test later showed Armstrong had a blood-alcohol content of 0.218 percent, or more than 2½ times the state's 0.08 percent legal limit.In addition to DUI, police cited Armstrong with not stopping at a red light.

10:45 a.m. Saturday — Two people were hurt in a three-vehicle wreck at Route 8 South and Litman Road.The chain-reaction accident happened when a car driven by Natalie DiPietro, 28, of Gibsonia rear-ended a vehicle driven by Patricia Mitchell, 59, of Pittsburgh. The collision pushed Mitchell's car into the back of a vehicle driven by Matthew Morrow, 29, of Butler.Morrow and Saudia Griffin, 33, of Pittsburgh, a passenger in Mitchell's car, both suffered minor injuries. Police cited DiPietro for driving at an unsafe speed.4:30 p.m. Friday — Vehicles driven by Keith Faris, 23, of Chicora and Kim Sedwick, 63, of Butler collided on New Castle Road. Police said the accident happened when Faris changed lanes behind Sedwick and was unable to stop in time.12:35 p.m. Friday — Angeline Sasse, 82, of Butler was hurt when a car rear-ended her vehicle on New Castle Road at Point Plaza. Sasse was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for treatment of neck pain.The other driver, Jose F. Cantera, 19, of Butler, was cited for driving at an unsafe speed.Wednesday — Two girls were caught swiping swimwear items from the Walmart at Butler Commons. The girls, ages 14 and 16, were cited for retail theft.11:40 a.m. April 29 — A lunch period fight at the Intermediate High School ended with three 16-year-old girls facing charges and one of the same youths also in the hospital.The injured girl was treated at Butler Memorial Hospital for a concussion and contusions.Police did not identify the students, who all are charged in juvenile court with simple assault, disorderly conduct and harassment.

Monday — Police reported they are investigating a burglary last month at a home in the 400 block of Summit Street. Two handguns were stolen in the break-in between April 1 and 8.Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-458-7925Monday — A small amount of loose change was stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 200 block of Franklin Place. The theft happened sometime during the early morning hours.Monday — A thief made off with less than $1 in change from a vehicle in the 100 block of Park Street. The vehicle was broken into between 2 p.m. Sunday and 7 a.m. Monday.1:14 p.m. Sunday — A car driven by Stacy Vallely, 49, of Grove City struck a sign pole at the Penn Grove Hotel on East Pine Street. Vallely was cited for careless driving.Saturday — A black Mongoose BMX-style bicycle valued at $140 was stolen from the front porch of a home in the 400 block of North Center Street. The bike was taken Friday or Saturday.1:21 a.m. Thursday — Joseph Mosley, 58, of Grove City was arrested for driving under the influence after his car struck a utility pole in the borough. Police also cited Mosley for careless driving.

Friday — Police charged Jodee E. Hazlet, 37, of Petrolia with drunken driving stemming from a 1:41 a.m. March 27 traffic stop at Route 488 and Kelly Road in Muddy Creek Township.In addition to driving under the influence, Hazlet is charged with failing to keep right, disregarding traffic lanes, a stop sign violation, careless driving and not wearing a seat belt.

9:08 p.m. Monday — Kirk M. Giles, 28, of Brackenridge, Allegheny County, was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after troopers found him changing a flat tire on the side of Route 28 in South Buffalo Township.

2 a.m. Monday — A car driven by Matt B. Estes, 57, of Sandy Lake struck a mailbox, traveled over an embankment and crashed into a ditch along Route 258 just north of Amsterdam Road in Liberty Township, Mercer County. Police said Estes was cited for careless driving.

Sunday — A vandal with a pellet gun shot out a window and a screen at a home on River Road in Perry Township. The vandalism happened between Thursday and Sunday.

Wednesday — The state police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement cited Grenci Beer Distributor on Freeport Road in Summit Township for violating the state liquor law by failing to maintain records of operation for two years between 2012 and 2014. An administrative law judge will hear the case.
