Constance M. 'Connie' Brown

Constance Brown

Constance M. “Connie” Brown, 85, of Butler passed away at 3:36 a.m. Tuesday at the Good Samaritan Hospice at Concordia.

She was born on Feb. 21, 1929, in Akron, Ohio, to the late John Edwin Southworth and Florence (Linnard) Southworth.

Connie worked as a medical assistant in the office of Dr. A.J. Garcia.

She was a member of the Tanglewood Community Center, where she served as a member of the board of directors. Connie enjoyed crocheting, knitting, reading and designing jewelry.

Connie is survived by her son, Daniel Hageman and his wife, Patti, of Butler; her two daughters, Diane Sweet and her husband, Ronald, of Renfrew and Dolores Hageman of Butler; her six grandchildren, Honey Royer, Brandy Smith-Lawrence, J.R. Sweet, Terry Hageman, Beth Hageman and Kristen Byford; her 14 great-grandchildren; her two brothers, Larry Southworth of Charlotte, N.C., and Rick Southworth of Emlenton; her three sisters, Jean Campbell of Cabot, Lillian Shearer of Eau Claire and Sandra Southworth of Butler; her 12 nieces; and her seven nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Miller Brown, who she married on Nov. 30, 1985, and who passed away on May 20, 1994; her brother, “Jack” Southworth; and her three sisters, Lois Selfridge, Madeline Gillespie and Ruth Hilger.

Brown — There will be no public visitation or service for Constance M. “Connie” Brown, who passed away Tuesday, April 22, 2014.Friends will be notified for a private memorial service.Arrangements are being handled by the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E.
