Wayne Allen “Slide” Osborne, 72, of Butler passed away at 4:10 a.m. Wednesday at the VNA Inpatient Hospice.

He was born Sept. 29, 1941, in Grove City to the late Frank Osborne and Elsie (Taylor) Osborne.

Wayne worked as a plant manager at Halstead Industries, a production worker with Paragon Tradebrands and a farm equipment repairman for Smardt Equipment.

He was a member of the Christ Community United Methodist Church and the Sunset Riders. Wayne enjoyed golfing, bowling and loved dancing and singing.

Wayne is survived by his wife, Arlene J. (Thomas) Osborne, who he married May 25, 1974; one son, Richard Osborne and his wife, Janice, of Fayetteville, Ga.; three daughters, Angela Maynard and her husband, David, of Spring Hill, Fla., Jodi Sullivan and her husband, Chris, of Butler and Jill Callen and her husband, Terry, of Butler; nine grandchildren, Dustin, Courtney, Melissa, Preston, Shawn, Mason, Kyle, Aidan and Devon; one great-grandchild, Austin; three brothers, Robert Osborne of Butler, David Osborne and his wife, Doris, of Prospect and John Osborne and his wife, Ginny, of Prospect; one sister, Donna Rice and her husband, LaVern, of Harmony; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Lee Osborne; and an infant sister, Margaret.

OSBORNE — Friends of Wayne Allen “Slide” Osborne, who died Wednesday, April 23, 2014, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler.Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Robert Huber of the North Street Christian Church officiating. Burial will take place in Butler County Memorial Park.In lieu of flowers, memorial donation are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association of Greater PA, Pittsburgh Office, 1100 Liberty Ave., Suite 201, Pittsburgh, PA 15222 or to the VNA Inpatient Hospice, 115 Technology Drive, Butler, PA 16001.Online condolences can be given at www.thompson-miller.com.
