Marilyn J. Minteer

Marilyn J. Minteer, 93, of Kittanning, formerly of Worthington, passed away Sunday at Erdley's Sunnyside Personal Care Home.

She was born Nov. 1, 1920, in Butler, the daughter of the late Francis (Zarnick) Maricq.

Marilyn was a member of Worthington Presbyterian Church.

She was a wonderful seamstress who also did China painting, jewelry plates, baby shoes and Easter eggs. She also did quilting, making many for her family.

While staying at Erdley's, she went back to crocheting and knitting, making everyone dish cloths and throws.

Marilyn is survived by her daughters, Beverly (John) Reed and Debra (Ted) LaSitis, both of Kittanning; her four grandchildren, Tom (Terri) Reed of Florida, Mark (Tabitha) Reed of Kittanning, Brian (Jennifer) Barton of Worthington, and Todd (Julie) Barton of Worthington; and her eight great-grandchildren, Solomon, Isaac, Simon and Scarlett Reed, and Bailey, Owen, Brady and Ava Barton.

In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Minteer, who she married Oct. 18, 1939.

Minteer — The friends of Marilyn J. Minteer, 93, of Kittanning, formerly of Worthington, who passed away Sunday, April 27, 2014, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at F. Duane Snyder Funeral Home, 119 Bear St., Worthington.Additional visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m. Thursday at Worthington Presbyterian Church with the Rev.
