Betty (McHenry) Donahey, 89, of Jefferson Township, formerly of Leechburg, passed away Sunday at Concordia Lutheran Ministries.

She was born on July 13, 1924, in Leechburg, the daughter of the late Ernest “E.C.” and Vie E. (Bush) McHenry.

She was the wife of Theodore W. “T.W.” Donahey, who passed away in 1972.

Betty worked as a secretary at the former Leechburg Hardware Store and at a State Farm Insurance agency for 20 years.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Leechburg and a lifetime member and a former matron of the Eastern Star 179 in Freeport. She also volunteered at Allegheny Valley Hospital.

Betty enjoyed shopping, going for drives and taking care of her elderly relatives.

She is survived by her two daughters, Sally L. Donahey and Sue A. Donahey, both of Cabot, and her two nieces, Nancy (Ronald) Vogel of West Leechburg and Sharyn (Richard) Altmire of Erie.

Donahey — The friends of Betty (McHenry) Donahey, who passed away Sunday, April 27, 2014, will be welcomed by Betty’s family from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from noon until the time of funeral ceremonies at 2 p.m. Friday at the Clawson Funeral and cremation Center, 170 Main St., Leechburg, with her pastor, the Rev. Jerrad R.
