John Paul McCool, 65, of Meyersdale passed away Thursday.

Born on Dec. 14, 1948, in Harrisville, he was the son of the late Paul F. and Mary Alice (Robinson) McCool.

He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Betty Lou Bailey and Alice Bonnita Van Dyke.

John is survived by his wife of 33 years, Christine (Bastecky) McCool; his son, Eric John McCool and his wife, Teri, of Meyersdale; his grandchildren, Hunter John McCool, Kara and Alexandra Yutzy and Fletcher McCool; and his sister, Pauline Holmes of Slippery Rock.

John was a retired insurance agent for Specialty Insurance. He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. He also enjoyed woodworking and traveling with Christine.
