Barbara J. Charles

Barbara J. Charles, 92, of Butler passed away peacefully Wednesday surrounded by her family at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Butler.

Born July 2, 1921, in Uniontown, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Arelia Mossley Schmidtke. She was the wife of the late James R. Charles, who passed away July 14, 2005.

She was a homemaker and enjoyed traveling and spending winters in Florida. She also enjoyed cooking and camping, crafts and spending time with her family. She enjoyed playing softball during her younger years.

Surviving are two daughters, Barbara (Hank) LeGrand of Renfrew and Pamela (Bob) Lovell of Callery; three sons, James W. (Karen) Charles of Cranberry Township, Thomas A. Charles of Montross, Va., and M. Timothy (Gloria) Charles of Butler; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one sister, Ruth (Jack) Reddaway of Camas, Wash.

She was preceded in death by one grandson and one brother.

CHARLES — Funeral services for Barbara J. Charles, who died Wednesday, May 21, 2014, are private. Internment to take place at Pinewood Memorial Cemetery, Cranberry Township.Arrangements by the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St. in Butler.
