Gertrude M. Christy, 82, of Butler passed away Monday at her home surrounded by her loved ones.

She was born on July 10, 1931, in Butler to the late Francis Lewis and Julia (Eppinger) Lewis.

Mrs. Christy worked as a supervisor at the Pine Haven Personal Care Home, retiring in 2002.

She was a member of the East Butler Presbyterian Church.

Mrs. Christy enjoyed camping and fishing and loved spending time with her family.

Mrs. Christy is survived by her husband, Richard L. Christy, who she married on Oct. 26, 1949; her two sons, Richard C. Christy, and Brian L. Christy and his wife, Sharon, both of Butler; her daughter, Debra D. Panei and her husband, James, of Butler; her eight grandchildren; her two step-grandchildren; her four great-grandchildren; and her sister, Zella McAnallen of New Castle.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five sisters and two brothers.
