Edna Wright

Edna Lavelle Wright, 85, of Slippery Rock, formerly of Penn Hills, passed away at her home in Slippery Rock at 4:40 a.m. Wednesday following a brief illness.

She was born in Penn Hills on Aug. 17, 1928, to the late William Allen Fisher and Edna Curren Fisher.

She married Edward George Wright on July 22, 1946. He preceded her in death on May 1, 2008.

She was a Protestant and had been a member of the Red Hat Society. Edna enjoyed sewing, golfing, camping, traveling and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth A. and her husband, Steve Ezar, of Pittsburgh; her two sons, Larry E. and his wife, Anna Marie Wright, of Tionesta and William A. and his wife, Dale Ann Wright, of Slippery Rock; her two brothers, Ashley and his wife, Eileen Fisher, of Penn Hills and Yourd and his wife, Betty Fisher, of Plum Borough; her six grandchildren, William Wright, Nicole Wright Olshanski, Edward Wright, Leann Wright Sharrar, Stephen and Aiden Ezar; her two stepgrandsons, Zach and Jesse Gilliland; and her eight great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Alma Fisher; her brother, William Fisher; and her grandson, Charles Wright.

Wright— The family of Edna Lavelle Wright, who passed away Wednesday, June 4, 2014, will receive friends at the Smith Funeral Home, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock, from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday and at the Soxman Funeral Home, 7450 Saltsburg Road, Penn Hills, from 11 a.m. until time of service at 1 p.m. Monday.Funeral services will be at the Soxman Funeral Home at 1 p.m. Monday. Interment will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Penn Hills.
