Gary Lynn Ralston Sr., 67, of Butler passed away Friday at Passavant Hospital.

He was born Sept. 24, 1946, in Pittsburgh, a son of the late George and Florence (Hilgar) Ralston.

Gary graduated from Slippery Rock High School in 1964.

He served in the U.S. Army for three years, and then he moved to Grove City where he worked for General Electric, retiring after 32 years.

Gary's hobbies had included hunting and golfing, and he also was affiliated with the Elks lodge and the American Legion.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers Jerry and Robert.

Gary is survived by his wife of 48 years, Caren; his sons, Gary and Randall; grandchildren, Shawn, Kai, Kayla, Kristina, Alex and Mathew; and great-grandson, Jaxton.

RALSTON — A memorial service for Gary Lynn Ralston Sr., who died Friday, June 6, 2014, will be held later when all family members can gather at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.His arrangements are being taken care of by the Smith Funeral Home of Slippery Rock.
