WEST SUNBURY — Rider Lutheran Church, 189 Rider Church Road, will have a strawberry festival from 4 to 7 p.m. July 19.

Strawberry shortcake, homemade ice cream and other food will be available.

The event includes a Chinese auction.

Butler County Extension will teach a home food preservation class from 1 to 3 p.m. July 22 at the Extension office 101 Motor Pool Way.Registration is required by calling 814-849-7361.For those using pressure canners for home food preservation, Penn State Extension offers free testing of dial gauges for accuracy.To make an appointment for this, call the office at 724-287-4761. For the appointment, take the lid with the dial gauge attached to the extension office.
