Irene E. Goodman
Irene E. Goodman, 83, of 8982 Route 68, Rimersburg, passed away at 7:30 a.m. Saturday at Clarion Hospital.
Born in the village of Hogback, Armstrong County, on April 23, 1931, she was the daughter of Charles and Juliana Kristes Phillips.
Irene was married on Sept. 11, 1948, to Jack Goodman, who died on June 13, 1982.
She was a homemaker and, when she was younger, worked several years at the former Davis Cookie Co. in Rimersburg.
Irene was a Catholic. She enjoyed traveling, going to the casino, spending time with her family and, when she was younger, hunting with her late husband.
Irene is survived by her two daughters, Janie Griebel of Clarion and Gloria Lamont and her husband, Skip, of Karns City; her sister, Rose Hulihan of Erie; her son-in-law, Tim Kriebel of Sligo; her eight grandchildren; her 16 great-grandchildren; and her two great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughters, Jackie Kriebel and infant Mary; her great-grandson, Logan Reed; her sisters, Mary Gandolfi and Margie Bobberts; her brothers, John, Carl and Steve Phillips; and her son-in-law, Sam Griebel.

Goodman, who passed away Saturday, June 14, 2014, will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Varner Funeral Home, 583 Main St., Rimersburg.A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday from the St. Richard Catholic Church in Rimersburg with the Rev. William Kuba, pastor, as the celebrant.
