Police looking for bank robber
LEECHBURG, Armstrong County — Police departments in northwestern Pennsylvania were on the lookout today for a middle-aged man who robbed a bank in the borough.
The unknown white man about 10:50 a.m. walked into the Farmers & Merchants Bank on Market Street and handed a teller a note claimed he had a gun.
No gun, however, was displayed, Leechburg police said. No one was hurt.
Authorities did not say how much money was taken in the robbery.
Police immediately issued a bulletin for neighboring departments to be on-the-lookout for the robber, who is described as 55 or older, about 5 feet, 10 inches tall and 190 pounds.
The suspect has thick gray hair and was wearing a navy blue golf shirt, jeans and a light blue ball cap. He also was carrying a blue zippered bag.
