Clyde H. Twentier
Clyde H. Twentier, 89, passed away Monday in the VNA Inpatient Hospice in Butler with his family by his side.
Clyde was born Dec. 15, 1924, in Butler, the son of the late Lewis and Mary (Brown) Twentier.
Clyde was married to Helen (Dittmer) Twentier for 45 years before she passed away on April 3, 2014.
Clyde retired from Pullman Standard in Lyndora.
He served in the Navy during World War II. He was a life member of the VFW Post 249.
Clyde was an avid NASCAR and Pittsburgh sports fan. He enjoyed being outside mowing grass, playing horseshoes and playing cards with family and friends.
Clyde was known for helping everyone, whether family, friends or neighbors. He was always there to lend a hand. He was a very kind person and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Surviving are his children, Pamela (Robert) Speakman of Mechanicsburg, Carol (Rick) Christie of Hooker, Cathy (Kent) Campbell of Reedsville, W.Va., Gary (Darlene) Twentier of Eau Claire, and Henry (Carol) Twentier of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; his stepchildren, Alfred (Jill) Mueller of Mechanicsburg, Deborah Meckley of Cincinnati, Ohio, Diana (Ed) Boring of Butler, and Keith Mueller of Mechanicsburg; and his sister, Leona Styers of Butler. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and his wife, Clyde was preceded in death by a son; two brothers, and three sisters.
Twentier— The friends of Clyde H. Twentier, who passed away Monday, June 30, 2014, will be received from 10 a.m. until time of service at noon Thursday at the Young Funeral Home, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler, with the Pastor Joel Benson of the Trinity Lutheran Church officiating.
