Donald W. Whiteside, 82, of Moon Township, passed away with his wife, Nancy J. Whiteside, Tuesday at home.

He was born in Butler, the son of the late W. James Whiteside and Frances E. (Dunn) Whiteside.

A graduate of Allegheny College, he served two years in the U.S. Army in research laboratories of the Chemical Corps and Medical Corps. His 31-year career with Hagan Corporation and its successor company, Calgon Corporation, included engineering and research positions.

Donald is survived by his son, Gregory and his wife, Frances Whiteside; his two grandsons, Rome and Kenton; and his sister, F. Jeanette McQuistion.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Leslie J. Whiteside, and his brother, J. Richard Whiteside.

Whiteside, who passed away Tuesday, July 8, 2014, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Huntsman Funeral Home,1522 Coraopolis Heights Road, Moon Township.A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
