Donald C. Blinn
Donald C. Blinn, 78, of Kittanning died Thursday at ACMH Hospital.
He was born May 4, 1936, in East Franklin Township to Allen Lewis Blinn and Margaret Virginia (Bowser) Blinn.
Known as “Cookie” to his friends, Don was a lifetime resident of Kittanning and lived in the home in which he was born all of his life. Don played for the first midget football team in West Kittanning and continued to play throughout high school.
He graduated from Kittanning High School in 1954 and for many years worked in the railroad car manufacturing department at Pullman Standard in Butler.
Don was a member of the First Baptist Church in Kittanning. In his free time, he was an avid collector and builder of model trains. One of his favorite activities each year was bringing joy to children and adults alike by entertaining as Santa Claus at Renshaw Family Farm's Pumpkin Fest. He was also a gifted woodworker and made many beautiful pieces for family and friends. Don was always willing to help those in need and his kind, compassionate spirit will forever be remembered by those who knew him.
His memory will be cherished by his sister, Bobbi Ruth Blinn of Kittanning, and numerous cousins.
Don was preceded in death by his parents.
BLINN — Friends of Donald C. Blinn, who died Thursday, July 10, 2014, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Bauer Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 515 N. McKean St., Kittanning.Additional visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 11 a.m. Monday at the Montgomeryville Baptist Church, Adrian Road, Adrian, with the Rev.
