Mary Chupka
Mary Chupka, 85, of Butler passed away Monday at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born on Aug. 5, 1928, in Lyndora to the late Nick Soloha and Eufimia (Yarmorich) Soloha.
Mrs. Chupka worked as a finisher at the Castle Rubber Co., retiring on June 19, 1992, with 44 years of service.
She was a life member of the North Main Street Church of God, where she was a member of the Keenagers Sunday School Class. Mrs. Chupka enjoyed gardening and flowers and was an avid cat lover.
Mrs. Chupka is survived by her son, John Chupka of East Butler; her granddaughter, Tammy Rondinelli and her husband, Louis, of Karns City; her two grandsons, John Chupka and his wife, Melissa, of Groton, Conn., and Matthew Chupka and his wife, Cheryl, of Okinawa, Japan; her seven great-grandchildren, Angelo Rondinelli, Nathaniel Rondinelli, John Chupka III, Jimmy Chupka, Runa Chupka, Matthew James Chupka and Abagale Katlin Chupka; her three special friends, Deb Steele, Reba Bryan and Bonnie McCullough; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Chupka, who she married on Nov. 16, 1946, and who passed away on July 28, 1999; her three sisters, Katherine Penar, Eva Galisin and Stella Galaska; her daughter-in-law, Tillie Swartzlander Rome Chupka; and her stepbrother, Alex Pantuk.
Chupka — The friends of Mary Chupka, who passed away Monday, July 14, 2014, will be received from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler.Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the North Main Street Church Of God, 1201 N. Main St. Ext., Butler, with the Pastor Gordon Powell officiating.
