Ruth J. Gibson Houghton
Ruth J. Gibson Houghton, 75, of Jacksonville, Fla., formerly of Butler, passed away peacefully about 12:37 a.m. Sunday.
Born in Butler on Dec. 1, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Marion H. Gibson and Thomas L. Gibson Sr.
Ruth oriented with the Catholic faith.
She was an avid Steelers fan and a bingo player. She enjoyed doing word puzzles, watching game shows and taking care of her beloved dog, Pudgy, and cat, Bingo.
Surviving are her four daughters, Deborah Gibson-Perry and her husband, William, of Butler, Joanne Snyder of St. George, S.C., Beverly Ponder and her husband, Carl, of Panama City, Fla., and Kimberly Davis and her husband, Jimmy, of Middleburg, Fla.; her 10 grandchildren; her 12 great-grandchildren; her two nieces and her nephew and their families; her brother, Thomas Leroy Gibson Jr. of Orange Park, Fla.; and her sister, Judy Vargo and her husband, Glenn, of Butler.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Orville L. Houghton, and her infant grandson.
