DQE signs 20-year contract with Iron Mountain
BOYERS — DQE Communications, a provider of data networking services for businesses, has signed a 20-year contract with Iron Mountain to support the data storage and information management company’s growing data center business.
The contact announced was made Wednesday.
DQE will connect Iron Mountain’s storage facility in northwestern Butler County to a fiber-optic meeting point on Pittsburgh’s North Side, where DQE’s Western Pennsylvania network interfaces with other fiber-optic carriers from across the country.
From there, Iron Mountain will be able to improve its connection with its clients across North America by rapidly transporting, protecting and saving data to its facility in Boyers.
DQE Communications will add about 40 miles of fiber-optic cable from Iron Mountain’s site in Boyers to Butler.
Iron Mountain is contracting 192 miles of DQE Communications fiber optic cable to Pittsburgh’s North Side.
