Tractor-trailertips onto pickup

JACKSON TWP — The drivers of a pickup truck and tractor-trailer rig that collided on Seneca School Road this morning were entrapped more than an hour after the accident.

No students were involved in the accident.

Township police Chief Terry Seilhamer said the load on the rig shifted as the driver turned from Little Creek Road onto Seneca School Road shortly after 8 a.m., causing the vehicle to tip onto a pickup truck that was headed the other direction toward Little Creek Road.

The impact pinned the pickup against a guard rail and pinned the driver’s legs in the vehicle.

The driver of the pickup works for MarkWest, a natural gas company, according to a company representative at the scene.

A medical helicopter landed at a soccer field near Seneca Valley High School.

Rescuers were using care to upright the tractor-trailer so as not to allow the rig to slip and fall back on the pickup.
