CENTER TWP — The Bon Ton store in the Clearview Mall will close at the end of January.

The company announced today that it won’t renew the leases for that store and its Elder-Beerman store in the Raleigh Mall in Beckley, W. Va,

Both leases will end on Jan. 31, 2015.

About 38 workers at the Butler store and 39 workers at the Beckley store will be affected. The workers can interview for available positions at other Bon Ton or Elder-Beerman stores, or receive severance and other career transition benefits.

Kathryn Bufano, Bon Ton president and CEO President, says in a news release that the company decided to close the stores following performance reviews.

Bon Ton operates 273 stores in 26 states. The company has headquarters in York, Pa., and Milwaukee, Wisc.
