Michael R. Singer
Michael R. Singer, 63, of Meridian went to be with the Lord on Saturday evening while at Allegheny General Hospital.
Born on Sept. 18, 1951, he was the son of the late Lawrence and Ruth Singer of Butler. He is also reunited in heaven with his brother, Richard Singer; his nephew, Jorgen Singer; his mother-in-law, Shirley Roth; and his precious son, Michael.
He and his wife, Sherry Roth Singer, celebrated 41 years of marriage on Aug. 18.
Mike graduated from Butler High School in 1969, where he excelled as a pitcher for the baseball team. He attended Butler County Community College, and he worked at Pullman Standard for seven years as a welder.
For 39 years, he was a chemical operator and “chef” at BASF Corp.
Mike was a legendary hunter, fisherman, gardener and avid outdoorsman. He loved God's creation, especially sunrises. All who knew him will continue to tell tales and echo his praise in deer camps and lodges for generations.
Mike's Godly strength and honor will be secure in the trusted hands and loving heart of his son, Eric Singer of Meridian. He loved and was always helpful to his daughter-in-law, Tabatha. He was Papa to four grandchildren, Edan, Avery, Colten and Lilly, who each captured his heart. They will forever be blessed by his Christian legacy of love. “We love you, Gumpa.”
Surviving him are his two brothers, Lawrence Singer, married to Peg, and David Singer, married to Sandra Murray, both of Dubois. He is also survived by his father-in-law, Ronald Roth. He will be warmly remembered by his numerous brothers and sisters-in-law and his 83 nieces and nephews who testify to his continual selfless help with everything.
Above all, Mike loved God, his family and friends, and he loved to laugh. He put the “wow” factor in everything he did.
