Helen L. Cornman Karns

Helen L. Cornman Karns, 91, of Zelienople passed away Saturday at the Passavant Retirement Community, Zelienople.

She was born on Nov. 25, 1922, in Kittanning to the late John I. and Eva Rose St. Clair Cornman.

Helen was a homemaker.

She attended the First Church of God, Kittanning.

She is survived by her daughters, Linda (David) Skinner of Greensburg and Lisa (Chris) Ramos of Butler; her son, Kenneth W. (Joy) Karns Jr. of Phoenix, Ariz.; her grandchildren, David (Stacey) Skinner, Amy Seigenfus, Andrew (Meghan) Skinner, Tina (Sean) Jeffries, Megan (Matt) Garvy, Amber Ramos, and Autumn Ramos, and her great-grandchildren, Kaya and Chayse Skinner, Robbie and Alyssa Seigenfus, Kellen and Cavan Skinner, Justin and Trent Jeffries, and George, Stella and Henry Garvy.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth W. Karns; her sisters, Alda Gray and Nellie Cornman Hutchinson, and her brothers, Turney and Paul Gray.

Helen was involved in a variety of activities at the First Church of God. Her love for quilting, women's ministries and sharing her gifts of pie baking and cooking brought great joy into her life.

Karns — Friends of Helen L. Cornman Karns, who died Saturday, Sept. 27, 2014, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home, 200 S. McKean St., Kittanning. Additional visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m. Thursday at the First Church of God, 629 Woodward Ave., Kittanning, with her son-in-law, the Rev. David R. Skinner, along with the Revs. John W. Snyder and Nick Wilson officiating.
