Dirt biker suffers apparent heart attack
CLAY TWP — A dirt bike racer suffered an apparent heart attack during a Saturday afternoon event at the Switchback Racetrack along Route 8.
Chief Reid Campbell of the West Sunbury Volunteer Fire Department said the man, who is in his early 40s, stopped and got off his bike in a wooded area before collapsing.
A Superior Ambulance crew was on standby at the track for the event. Butler Ambulance joined West Sunbury firefighters in responding to the 2:46 p.m. 911 call.
Campbell said after CPR was administrated to the man, whose name was unavailable, a four-wheeler was used to take him to one of the ambulances.
