Gerald E. 'Whitey' Allshouse
Gerald E. “Whitey” Allshouse, 86, of Clay Plant Road, Brockway, passed away Sunday at the DuBois Nursing Home.
Born on May 9, 1928, in Brockway, he was the son of the late Charles E. and Marie Matson Allshouse.
He was married on Oct. 8, 1950, to Aileen Faye Truesdale and she survives.
Retired, he had been employed for more than 35 years as a carpenter at Cramer Lumber and Supply, then worked for another 10 years at Freemer Reclamation.
He was a U.S. Army, Korean War Veteran, serving in the 5th Infantry Division.
Whitey was a member at the Moorhead United Methodist Church in Brockway, Parson-Marnatti Post 95 of the American Legion, Brockway Sportsmens Club and Democratic Committee for Jefferson County, and he served on the Brockway Recreational Board.
He was an avid hunter and fly fisherman. He enjoyed bowling and gardening.
In addition to his wife, Faye, he is survived by his two daughters, Terri (Dennis) Noland and Sharon Tokarcik, both of Brockway; his son, Jerry (Jackie) Allshouse of Butler; his brother, George Pendleton of Brockway; and his two sisters, Shirley Welsh and Marjorie (David) McLaughlin, both of Brockway. He is also survived by his 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Mary Catherine Allshouse, and his brother, Ralph Pendleton.
Allshouse — The friends of Gerald E. “Whitey” Allshouse, who passed away Sunday, Oct. 12, 2014, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Carlson-Shugarts FuneralHome, 1033 4th Ave., Brockway.A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Moorhead United Methodist Church, 335 Main St., Brockway, with the Pastor Bob Trask officiating.Full military honors will be accorded by Parson-Marnatti Post 95 of the American Legion Wednesday morning at the church.
